The establishment and its surroundings are examined regularly for signs of infestation. Detectors and traps, such as insect light traps and bait stations, are designed and placed so they cannot contaminate raw materials, products or facilities. Where monitoring is outsourced the FBO still reviews the reports and makes sure it or its pest control operator takes corrective action (eradicating pests, removing harbourage or entry routes) where necessary.
