Build, Acquire and Implement – COBIT 2019

COBIT 2019 BAI07.01: BAI07.01 Establish an implementation plan

An implementation plan is approved by the relevant parties and addresses converting systems and data, the criteria for acceptance testing, communication, training, preparing the release, moving it to production, support in early live running, a fallback or backout plan and a review after implementation: the plan sets out the implementation strategy, the order of steps, resources needed, interdependencies, the criteria on which management will accept the live implementation, what must be verified at installation, the transition strategy and the post-implementation review; external solution providers commit to their part in each step; fallback and recovery processes are identified and recorded; technical and business stakeholders approve the plans, with internal audit reviewing them where suitable; and the technical and business risks of implementation are formally reviewed and the key ones addressed in planning.
