CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) 4.6: Questions 4.6 and 4.6.1: Environmental policies

The organisation states whether it has an environmental policy addressing its environmental issues and details each policy: issues covered, level of coverage (organisation-wide, business division, site), value chain stages covered, whether it is public, the policy content (environmental commitments such as a circular economy strategy, No Net Loss or Net Positive Gain, respecting legally designated protected areas and nature-based solutions; climate commitments such as 100 percent renewable energy, net-zero emissions, no investment in fossil fuel expansion and not funding climate denial; water commitments such as reducing withdrawals and pollution and water stewardship; social commitments such as human rights, Indigenous Peoples' land rights and free, prior and informed consent) and alignment with global goals such as the Paris Agreement, the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework or Sustainable Development Goal 6. CDP's ambition is public, organisation-wide policies extending to the value chain and aligned with the latest science; climate leadership points require three or more commitments among 100 percent renewable energy, net-zero emissions, no investment in fossil fuel expansion, not funding climate denial or lobbying that opposes climate regulation, and stakeholder engagement and capacity building.
