The team ought to show that design took account of how the vehicle must interact with, and give feedback to, people around it and that the AVCO can meet the needs found. Wherever it shares space with people, the AV ought to signal what it intends, at least with indicators and brake lights; the notes point out that pods may share space with pedestrians, cyclists, animals and road vehicles, road vehicles with all of these, and that driver-to-pedestrian eye contact is a human cue an AV has to replace.
