Clause 10: AV monitoring operation (AVMO) – BSI PAS 1880:2020

BSI PAS 1880:2020 10.3: 10.3 Self-monitoring (high level)

The team building the AVMO ought to show that it can detect and properly handle: safety-related vehicle faults that a driver of a comparable human-driven vehicle could reasonably notice; safety-related faults in the AVMO itself; and every other safety-related vehicle fault. Self-check data from the AVSO, AVPO and AVCO ought to feed this monitoring. Faults a driver would notice may be caught by the AVMO directly or by the other operations and passed on; examples given are collision damage found in a car park, an odd noise from a wheel bearing, and an engine that starts stalling near junctions.
