To stop noise from the building's fixed plant disturbing noise-sensitive buildings close by: one credit where there are none within 800 metres of the site, or where a noise impact assessment by a suitably qualified acoustic consultant, to the ISO 1996 series, measures existing background levels at the nearest sensitive receptor and determines the level from the new source, and the noise from the development is at least 5 dB below background by day and night, or attenuation measures achieve that.
