To recognise an integrated design process: one credit where a clear sustainability brief (client requirements, objectives and target rating, timescales and budget, consultees, constraints) is developed before concept design is complete and the project delivery stakeholders meet to define their roles and contributions for each phase, considering end-user requirements, design aims, construction constraints, risk assessments, maintainability and commissioning; a second credit for consultation with third-party stakeholders (users, community, authorities) on the design and their feedback acted on; and two credits for appointing a Sustainability Champion (in V7 the BREEAM Advisory Professional) to facilitate the target rating through design and construction.
