BREEAM - Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method Hea 04: Hea 04 Thermal comfort

To achieve thermal comfort by design: one credit for thermal modelling using the PMV and PPD indices of ISO 7730 across the seasons, with local comfort criteria applied and occupied spaces meeting Category B of ISO 7730 Annex A, the indices reported for air-conditioned buildings; one credit where the modelling shows the criteria are also met under a projected climate change scenario or the design can adapt to it; and one credit for a thermal zoning and controls strategy that gives occupants appropriate control over their environment, informed by the modelling.
