BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9
Section 8: Production risk zones: high-risk, high-care and ambient high-care – BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9

BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9 8.1.2: High-risk areas physically segregated, with transfer points, personnel and equipment practices that keep segregation

What does 8.1.2 require?

Where high-risk areas exist there must be physical segregation from the rest of the site, taking account of product flow, materials and packaging, equipment, personnel, chemicals, waste, air flow and quality and utilities including drains, with transfer points that do not compromise segregation and practices to minimise the risk that personnel or equipment carry contamination into the area.
