Where a student is assessed as not meeting progress or attendance requirements the provider must give written notice as soon as practicable stating its intention to report, the reasons and the right to use the internal complaints and appeals process within 20 working days. It may report in PRISMS only after the complaints processes finish in its favour, or the student chose not to appeal or withdrew from the process in writing. It may decide not to report attendance where the student still attends at least 70 percent and, for school, ELICOS and Foundation courses, provides genuine compassionate or compelling evidence, or, for VET, maintains satisfactory progress.
