Australian Dangerous Goods Code Edition 7.8 (Consignor and Transport Duties)
Stowage, restraint and segregation (Parts 8 and 9) – Australian Dangerous Goods Code Edition 7.8 (Consignor and Transport Duties)

Australian Dangerous Goods Code Edition 7.8 (Consignor and Transport Duties) 8.1.2.7-8.1.2.9: Vented closures uppermost, no harmful atmospheres in the cabin, and no damaged or leaking packages accepted

What does 8.1.2.7-8.1.2.9 require?

Packagings and IBCs with vented closures are stowed with the closure uppermost; goods that could form flammable, toxic or other harmful atmospheres are stowed so that no such atmosphere can accumulate in the vehicle cabin if they leak. During loading and unloading packages are protected from damage, with care in preparation, choice of cargo transport unit and handling method; a package that looks damaged or leaky enough for contents to escape is not accepted for transport, and one found leaking in transit is moved to a safe place rather than carried on.
