Australian Dangerous Goods Code Edition 7.8 (Consignor and Transport Duties) 5.3.6.3: Emergency information panels for bulk containers, tanks and placardable units on road vehicles

What does 5.3.6.3 require?

Where a road vehicle carries any dangerous goods in a bulk container, a tank or a placardable unit, emergency information panels are required in addition to the class placards: on the rear of the vehicle or combination, and on both sides of every trailer or rigid vehicle that carries such goods. Each panel sits substantially vertical with its bottom edge at least 450 mm off the ground, on the sides as near the front of the loading area as practicable, and meets 5.3.1.4. A vehicle carrying one type of goods in bulk uses panels for those goods under 5.3.1.3.1; where different goods are carried in bulk, including in multi-compartment tanks, the panel selection rules of 5.3.6.3.3 apply.
