Core Standard 3 Practice governance and management – Australia RACGP Standards for General Practices (5th edition)

Australia RACGP Standards for General Practices (5th edition) C3.4: Practice communication and teamwork: the team can raise administrative matters with the principals, directors, management or owners when needed, all members are encouraged to contribute, and the clinical team discusses clinical issues and the systems that support care

What does C3.4 require?

Communication inside the practice shapes safety. Team members have access to the people who run the practice to raise administrative concerns, through meetings, an open door or another documented route. The practice seeks input from everyone, including reception and nursing staff, when systems are designed or changed. Clinicians meet or communicate regularly to discuss clinical matters such as difficult cases, incidents, new guidelines and the practice's clinical support systems, and the discussions are noted.
