Schedule 2 Division 5: Dealing with credit information (transfers, disclosures, security, use limits, fraud bans, direct marketing) – Australia Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code 2025

Australia Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code 2025 13: On a transfer of a provider's rights, the original provider and acquirer must disclose the transfer event and acquirer name within 45 days and continue the required disclosures

Where an acquirer takes over a credit provider's rights to repayment of consumer credit, the original provider notifies the individual of the transfer, and the original provider had already disclosed consumer credit liability information or default information to a body, the original provider and the acquirer must ensure the body is told of the transfer event and the acquirer's name within 45 days, and of any information thereafter required under Part IIIA, the Regulations or the Code; the acquirer is taken to have made the original provider's earlier disclosures for that credit.
