Australia OGTR Guidelines for Certification of a PC2 Large Scale Facility (Version 3.1) C66: Removing non-GMOs while dealings are under way

What does C66 require?

While a GMO dealing is going on in the facility, non-GMO organisms must not be taken out unless (a) procedures that keep the non-GMO work free of GMO contamination have been written down, (b) those procedures have been put into practice, and (c) every primary and transport container has been decontaminated before it leaves. If GMOs mix with or cross-contaminate other work, or this is suspected, those other organisms, materials or equipment have to be handled and disposed of under the conditions of certification as if they were GMOs. The guideline suggests physical separation, or working at different times and decontaminating any contaminated surfaces before different work begins, as ways to prevent cross-contamination.
