What does C38 require?

Any dealing in the facility outside an LWTS or closed system that generates aerosols carrying Risk Group 2 GM microorganisms has to take place in a biological safety cabinet, or in other aerosol containment equipment the Regulator has specifically approved in writing. The guideline notes that centrifuging or vortexing in sealed tubes need not happen in a cabinet as long as the tubes are opened only inside one.
