Australia OGTR Guidelines for Certification of a PC2 Large Scale Facility (Version 3.1) C27: Testing biological safety cabinets

What does C27 require?

Every installed biological safety cabinet, Class I or Class II, that is used for GMO dealings must be inspected and tested against the performance requirements set out in AS 2252.1 (Class I) and AS 2252.2 (Class II), at least every 12 months and also after it is relocated, after any mechanical or electrical maintenance, and after its HEPA filters are replaced. A certificate summarising the results and giving the next test date must be fixed to the cabinet. The guideline notes that C68 requires these records.
