A payment is made only on a claim in the approved form and manner with the information the CEO requires, made by the person who manages the funding for the support (or, for Agency-managed funding, the provider of the support), within 2 years after the support is provided or any shorter period the NDIS rules prescribe (s 45A(2), (3), (5)); from 1 December 2026 the default period becomes 90 days. A late claim is accepted only for exceptional circumstances and a claim made within a reasonable period after them (s 45A(6)). The PAPL adds that a registered provider claims only after the support has been delivered and that each claim must accurately reflect the frequency, volume and type of support.
