A person or a State or Territory body seeking registration, or renewal of registration, as an NVR registered training organisation applies to ASQA in the approved form, with any information and documents ASQA requires and the application fee set by ministerial determination (s 16). An initial application made while a ministerial instrument under s 231D pauses initial applications is invalid. In deciding the application ASQA must consider whether the applicant is complying, or will comply, with the VET Quality Framework and the statutory conditions of registration, may audit any matter relating to the application, and may charge a registration assessment fee; registration is for a period of not more than 7 years and may carry conditions (s 17).
