Systems that store, treat, dispose of or reuse wastewater on site must be designed and constructed with the treatment and storage capacity for the volume, make-up and discharge frequency of waste; the size, strength and rigidity for the flows, volumes and waste products processed; materials impervious to the waste and to water; and measures to keep surface water and stormwater out. Tasmania adds that access or inspection openings for desludging and maintenance must end at or above finished surface level and that the installation must keep meeting C3P1 to C3P9 throughout its life.
