Part B2: Heated water services – Australia National Construction Code 2025 Volume Three (Plumbing Code of Australia)

Australia National Construction Code 2025 Volume Three (Plumbing Code of Australia) B2P11-B2P12: B2P11 and B2P12 Avoid uncontrolled discharge and limit tap flow rates on heated water

Any failure or uncontrolled discharge from a heated water service must be avoided, and a heated water service must ensure efficient use of drinking water by limiting a shower, basin, kitchen sink or laundry trough tap or outlet to 9 litres a minute. Deemed-to-Satisfy B2D4 sets water efficiency for outlets that deliver cold and heated water at a minimum 3 Star WELS rating. New South Wales replaces B2P12 because BASIX regulates fixtures in new Class 1 and 2 buildings.
