Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations
Parts 9.4 to 9.6: Licensed major hazard facilities: risk management, community information, workers – Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations

Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations r572-573: rr 572 and 573 Provide information to the local community and authority, and after a major incident

The operator of a licensed facility ensures the local community and local authority receive the facility's name and location, a contact person, a general description of operations, how the community will be told of a major incident, the actions the emergency plan specifies for the community and a summary of the safety case, in an accessible form, revised after modifications and sent in writing to local community or public libraries (without disclosing security-sensitive information), and gives a copy to anyone who reasonably believes a major incident may affect them and asks in writing. After a major incident, it takes all reasonable steps to inform the affected community, the local authority and regulatory agencies as soon as practicable of what happened, the actions taken and proposed to prevent recurrence, and recommended protective actions.
