Designers, manufacturers, importers and suppliers of plant, substances or structures must ensure so far as is reasonably practicable that what they supply is without risk, including testing, analysis and specific information. The Regulations require manufacturers to consult plant designers, importers to consult designers and manufacturers, and the person who commissions construction work to consult the structure's designer. The principal contractor for a construction project must document in the WHS management plan the arrangements for consultation, cooperation and coordination between the PCBUs at the site (WHS Regulation 309).
