Workplace policies and procedures carry important information and help workers understand the measures in place for biological hazard risks: policies often detail responsibilities and set clear expectations, while procedures describe work tasks, identify hazards and document how the task is done to minimise risk. Any policies and procedures on managing biological hazard risks must be developed in consultation with workers and any HSRs, and all workers must be made aware of them and of what is expected of them.
