Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing the Risk of Falls at Workplaces 4.2c: 4.2 Keep solid construction surfaces non-slip and within safe gradients; secure grid mesh flooring

Surfaces of a solid construction must be non-slip and free of trip hazards and should generally not exceed 7 degrees (1 in 8); cleated surfaces should not exceed 20 degrees (1 in 3). Where grid mesh or checker plate is used for walkways and platforms, panels should be securely fixed to the manufacturer's specification, fitted before lifting into position where possible, each panel fixed before the next is placed, temporarily secured (tack welds, panel grips) until permanently fixed, and when panels are removed edge protection should be provided and the gaps protected.
