Where more than one business or undertaking has a duty on the same fall risk, because they share the work or the workplace, each must so far as is reasonably practicable consult, cooperate and coordinate with the others (WHS Act s 46). They should exchange information on who is doing what and work together so the risk is eliminated or minimised; for example a transport operator should agree with the supplier and the receiving business how falls will be controlled during loading and unloading, including whether equipment at each site means drivers need not climb onto loads.
