Fall risks are managed through a systematic process (identify hazards, assess risks where needed, eliminate, control by the hierarchy and keep controls effective, review) under WHS Regulations rr 34 to 38. Throughout it the PCBU must consult, so far as is reasonably practicable, the workers who carry out work for it and are or are likely to be directly affected (WHS Act s 47): employees, contractors and subcontractors and their employees, on-hire workers, outworkers, apprentices, trainees, work experience students and volunteers. Workers may be represented by an elected health and safety representative. Consultation means sharing information, giving a reasonable chance to express views and taking those views into account before deciding.
