Australia Model Code of Practice: How to Manage Work Health and Safety Risks
Section 3: Step 2, assess risks – Australia Model Code of Practice: How to Manage Work Health and Safety Risks

Australia Model Code of Practice: How to Manage Work Health and Safety Risks 3.1c: 3.1 Know when a detailed assessment is not needed and when a past one can be reused

A risk assessment is not required where legislation prescribes how a hazard or risk must be controlled, and those requirements must be followed. A detailed assessment may also be unnecessary where a code of practice or other guidance sets out a suitable control, or where well-known effective controls are in use in the industry and suit the workplace. An earlier assessment can be reused only where the hazards, tasks, things, workers and circumstances are the same and nobody faces greater, additional or different risk. Any change at the workplace calls for a new assessment.
