Section 3: Step 2, assess risks – Australia Model Code of Practice: How to Manage Work Health and Safety Risks

Australia Model Code of Practice: How to Manage Work Health and Safety Risks 3.1b: 3.1 Do the risk assessments the Regulations require and measure where exposure standards apply

A risk assessment is mandatory under the WHS Regulations for certain high risk activities, such as entry into confined spaces, diving work and live electrical work. Hazards with exposure standards, such as noise and airborne contaminants, may need scientific testing or measurement by a competent person, for example noise meters or gas detectors, to find out whether the standard is exceeded.
