A principal contractor may prepare a generic WHS management plan usable on several projects, but must review it for the hazards and risks of each specific project and workplace and revise it as necessary. Appendix G advises on content: listing people with responsibilities (HSRs only if they have a separate coordinating role), consultation arrangements (pre-commencement meetings, regular contractor meetings, toolbox meetings, a project WHS committee, a newsletter, and arrangements for people off site), incident management (stabilising and evacuating the injured safely, isolating and preserving the scene, making it safe, notifying the principal contractor, regulator and emergency services, investigating), emergency situations (the emergency plan, its testing, training), first aid, near miss reporting, SWMS collection with checks that controls do not conflict across contractors, and simple clear site rules communicated by toolbox talks, posting and handing out copies, with arrangements for workers with limited English.
