Australia Life Insurance Code of Practice (CALI Life Code) 1.20-1.21: Medical assessors registered and bound by ethical guidelines; complaints about providers handled

What does 1.20-1.21 require?

A provider used as a medical assessor or examiner must be registered with Ahpra or an appropriate professional body and must follow the AMA's ethics guideline for independent assessments, or an equivalent guideline for overseas providers. A complaint about a provider goes through the insurer's own complaints process unless the provider has a comparable process of equal standard, and the customer is told which of the two is handling it.
