No person carries out a restricted dental act (an irreversible procedure on the teeth, jaw or associated structures; correcting their malposition; fitting or adjusting in the mouth artificial teeth or corrective or restorative dental appliances; or an irreversible procedure, treatment or advice preparatory to fitting, constructing or repairing dentures or restorative appliances) unless registered in the dental or medical profession and acting within any approved registration standard, a student in an approved program or clinical training, doing technical work on the written order of a dentist or dental prosthetist, or prescribed by regulation. Offence: up to $60,000 or three years' imprisonment.
