Australia Health Practitioner Regulation National Law 2009 s113: s 113 Protected titles only for persons registered in the profession

No person knowingly or recklessly takes or uses a title in the Law's table of protected titles (for example medical practitioner, nurse, registered nurse, midwife, dentist, pharmacist, physiotherapist, psychologist, paramedic, occupational therapist, optometrist, podiatrist, osteopath, chiropractor, radiographer, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practitioner, Chinese medicine practitioner, acupuncturist) or a prescribed title in a way that could reasonably make someone believe they are registered in that profession, unless they are; nor uses such a title about another person who is not registered in the profession. This applies with or without other words and in any language. Offence: up to $60,000 or three years' imprisonment for an individual, $120,000 for a body corporate.
