Percentage daily intake information is optional but, if included, must be shown per serving for energy, protein, fat, saturated fat, carbohydrate, sodium and sugars (and dietary fibre if declared) using the stated reference values (8 700 kJ, 50 g, 70 g, 24 g, 310 g, 2 300 mg, 90 g and 30 g) with the statement that figures are based on an average adult diet of 8 700 kJ. Where a claim is about a vitamin or mineral that has a recommended dietary intake, the panel must give the percentage of that intake from one serving (not for foods for infants, though allowed there), calculated from the panel values. The information may be placed outside the panel if the serving size accompanies it and the food has no more than 1.15 per cent alcohol, pieces of information are kept together, and it then is not a nutrition content claim.
The graph holds this control, the 0 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
