Australia Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) s946A-946C: ss 946A to 946C Give a Statement of Advice for personal advice to retail clients

When personal advice is given to a retail client, the providing entity gives a Statement of Advice, either as the advice itself or as a record given when or as soon as practicable after the advice and in any event before any further related service, with the key information given at the time of advice if the SOA is not (civil penalty, s 946A(4)). Exceptions apply to further advice where a record of advice is kept and to small investments.
