Clause 4.5: Measurement and evaluation – AS/NZS 4801:2001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (superseded edition)

AS/NZS 4801:2001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (superseded edition) 4.5.1.1: Monitor and measure key OHS characteristics, calibrate equipment, and monitor performance and legal compliance

Documented procedures provide for regular monitoring and measurement of the key characteristics of operations and activities with the potential for illness or injury, and the effectiveness of these measures is evaluated. Equipment needed for OHS monitoring and measurement is identified, calibrated, maintained and stored as required, with records kept under the organisation's procedures. Procedures also monitor OHSMS performance, the effectiveness of operational controls and conformance with objectives and targets, and compliance with relevant OHS legislation.
