Conductors are identified by colour (Table 3.4): green/yellow reserved for earthing and bonding, yellow never for live conductors; existing bare or green earths and yellow live conductors may remain but get green/yellow or white sleeving at new junctions; exceptions apply to multi-core cables numbered or lettered, flexible cords with alternative colours (not yellow) and other special cases; switchboard wiring follows the switchboard standards.
