Conductors are sized so that between the supply point and any point in the installation the drop stays within 5 per cent of nominal voltage; where a final subcircuit's load is spread along it (lighting, socket-outlets), the calculation may use half the protective device rating; voltage rise in grid inverters is covered by AS/NZS 4777.1.
