AS 4674-2004 Design, Construction and Fit-out of Food Premises 2.2.1: 2.2.1 Use of potable water

Water used for food preparation, personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing is potable. Non-potable water is acceptable only for cleaning type uses, and only where food safety on the premises is not put at risk. Pipes carrying non-potable water are marked as such in line with AS 1345, and taps in food handling areas that deliver non-potable water are signed as such in line with AS 1319.
