If a shower's edge lies 200 mm or less from a doorway out of the wet area, the shower must be enclosed and must have either a waterstop finishing at least 5 mm above finished floor under the screen, a hob, or a step-down of at least 15 mm at its edge, together with a vertical waterstop where the screen meets the wall. A note recommends the floor outside falls away from the exit.
