Every unenclosed shower needs a waterstop along the edge of its shower area. In a Type 1 unenclosed shower it runs beneath the splash-limiting device and across the entry. For a Type 2 unenclosed shower it is at least 1 500 mm from the rose connection to the wall or ceiling. Notes advise draining the screed or placing the membrane over it so water is not trapped beyond the waterstop.
