Waterproofing under polished concrete follows 4.6, 4.9, 4.10 and 4.11 and, in addition: the membrane is protected by an underlayment while the topping is placed and vibrated; membrane details on vertical surfaces are protected from placing and polishing damage and incompatible sealers; and a compatible bond coat bonds the topping to that protective layer.
