Finished PVC floor and wall coverings are installed to AS 1884. Thermally welded water-resistant vinyl sheet is fixed at the drain by a mechanical clamping system that holds and seals the sheet where it terminates, and the waste connection follows 4.3. Welded resilient coverings not meeting AS/NZS 4858 are water resistant only, so an AS/NZS 4858 membrane is required in wet areas with a floor waste or wherever this Standard and the NCC require waterproofing.
