AS 1851:2012 Routine Service of Fire Protection Systems and Equipment 3.2-3.3: 3.1 to 3.3 Fire pumpsets: scope, inoperative precautions, isolation of start devices and frequency

Every pumpset (sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, jockey or pressure-maintenance pump) is serviced to Section 3 in addition to the sprinkler (Section 2) and hydrant (Section 4) requirements. Beyond the Clause 1.14 precautions, on a site with more than one fire pump, no more than one may be out of service at once, and before any preventive maintenance every automatic start device, local and remote, is checked to be isolated and tagged or locked out. Baseline data, records and reports follow Clauses 1.8, 1.16 and 1.17. Frequencies are monthly, six-monthly, yearly and five-yearly.
