AS 1851:2012 Routine Service of Fire Protection Systems and Equipment 2.4.3: 2.4.3 Dry pipe sprinkler system service schedules

Dry pipe systems receive every applicable wet pipe activity plus: monthly, check system air pressure is within range, desiccant condition, compressor oil and its cut-in and cut-out pressures, low air pressure alarm set points and indicators, simulate the alarm valve and operate local and brigade alarms through the bypass (confirming the ASE is activated), and drain receiver condensate. Six-monthly, close the isolation valve above the alarm valve where fitted, trip each alarm valve by venting the system air, check alarms and the accelerator or exhauster, verify gong operation within 180 s and brigade alarms, then restore air pressure, reset the FIP and ASE, record gauges and secure all valves and cocks as labelled (where no isolation valve is fitted, a partial test with the main stop valve mostly closed is suggested). Yearly, replace the desiccant and check the pipework is pitched to drain. Five-yearly, fit new dry pipe valve seats, seals and faceplate gasket and service the accelerator or exhauster.
