AS 1851:2012 Routine Service of Fire Protection Systems and Equipment 2.2-2.3: 2.1 to 2.3 Sprinkler systems: scope, routine service, survey, records and frequency

Section 2 covers wet pipe, dry pipe, deluge and water spray, and pre-action automatic fire sprinkler systems (home sprinkler systems are covered by AS 2118.5); combined sprinkler and hydrant systems are serviced to both Section 2 and Section 4, pumpsets to Section 3 and tanks to Section 5. Sprinkler systems are routinely serviced and surveyed to the Section's schedules, baseline data follows Clause 1.8, records follow Clause 1.16 and reports Clause 1.17. Intervals run from monthly and half-yearly through annual to 5, 10, 25 and 30 years. Drenchers and combined systems are serviced as wet pipe systems for the components installed; the water supply components upstream of a dry pipe, deluge or pre-action valve are also serviced as a wet pipe system.
