Media staging areas should be set up within a reasonable time to manage the flow of information; the media can help share information, especially about the family reunification center. The organization should consider locations and whether more than one area is needed: media will first try to get as close as possible, and as the event continues will still want a spot for images while working better in a more formal setting for briefings, so long events typically have an on-scene camera position plus a separate briefing area close to the command post or the EOC.
