Every registered provider must allow and facilitate access to an individual (physically, by video link or other reasonable means the individual requests) by a supporter, a qualified person giving legal advice or services, and an aged care volunteer visitor at any time the individual requests or consents to, and by an independent aged care advocate at any time the individual requests or consents to or, if the individual cannot request or consent, at any time (Rules 156-5). It must also allow advocates access to the setting (a residential care home or a home or community setting) to give information and education to an individual who requests or consents and to others who do (156-10). In home and community settings access applies only while services are being delivered.
