ACT Residential Tenancies Act 1997 cl29-33: Sch 1 cls 29 to 33 Rent receipts and rent records

Rent paid in person must be receipted at the time; rent paid to the lessor otherwise must be receipted within 1 week, unless paid directly into a nominated account. A receipt states the amount and should state the date, period, premises and whether it is rent or bond, with any missing particulars supplied within 4 weeks of the tenant's request. The lessor must keep, or have kept, records of rent payments for at least 12 months after the tenancy ends.
