World Bank Group General EHS Guidelines 4.1: 4.1 Construction and decommissioning: environment

Construction and decommissioning activities manage environmental impacts: noise and vibration, soil erosion, air quality, solid waste, hazardous materials, wastewater discharges and contaminated land. Controls include erosion and sediment control, clean runoff diversion, drainage and gradient limits on access roads, protection of water bodies, dust and emission control, waste management as under section 1.6, spill prevention for fuels and lubricants, treatment of site wastewater, and investigating and remediating contaminated land, working with whoever is responsible and liable for it.
